Other Ways to Help
If you are able, please consider donating Blood or Platelets. During our father's battle with cancer he regularly needed blood and platelets, so we find it important to be donors ourselves. Our place of donation is through the Red Cross.
In addition, people going through their blood cancer fight may need a bone marrow transplant. The patient requires a close match, which can be difficult to find. Our father matched with a stranger from California, and was able to receive bone marrow many states away.
Because of the generosity this individual made, our family found it important to join the Donor Registry as well for possible bone marrow matches. You can find more information on Be the Match.
